FREESTYLE 88 | 99 | 106

TIME FOR CHANGE!

The Freestyle range has received an overhaul to match the performance levels of today and tomorrow, after seeing an opportunity for progression with some new dimensions.

To create the spectacular, the power and pop has to come from within. The new board now has the potential to blast its way into every possible angle of rotation, driving the discipline into the future.

SHAPE
We compressed the total length of the board (for example the FS99 to 225cm) and shifted the volume distribution slightly backwards, which pushed the centre of gravity slightly behind the widest point. The board remains stable and balanced with the bonus of being short. All this contributes to accelerating the rotation of the board for more radical stunts whilst sliding or in the air.

The short length combined with the added volume in the tail, gives the rider the opportunity to push himself and his equipment off the surface of the water instantly. When landing, the board does not sink, as the volume pushes back and keeps you afloat.

Added volume allows us to keep the tail width at a narrow comfortable size, with an ergonomic dome deck under the back foot strap. This results in a comfortable stance for sailing regular or switch, with a body position for superior balance during sliding maneuvers.

The tail is rather narrow so the rider can get more radical in moves and push harder on the back foot.

Around the front foot strap the rail became fuller to avoid tripping and to guarantee good lift for maximum acceleration. The ergo deck remains on board (only for the front strap positions) for ultimate comfort.

From the mast base forward we use bevels and extra Vee just before the tuck line in order to prevent the rail from catching.

The scoop rocker line is kept rather flat for a smooth and early transition from sub to max planing and a little tail kick to make the board fast and maneuverable.

SUMMARY
The new generation boards are radical Freestyle tools to mould dreams into reality. Contrary to many other competition Freestyle boards these toys are still fun to just sail around.

LTD SHANE HYBRID

Team HybridThe new LF LTD Shane Hybrid is the culmination of over a year’s intense product development with Shane Bonifay and his team of the future. Shane wanted the ultimate hybrid board for wake and park ripping for everyone. We have created a new shape which pushes the limits of our hybrid technology in board flex, rider response and positive board feel on the water.

The future is now, and the Shane Hybrid will lead the way – wherever you ride.

Equipped with M6 Metric Inserts – ALL bindings MUST be mounted with Metric Screws! In order to make the thinnest, lightest, and most flexible board possible, we had to update our inserts to the highest quality, best locking inserts available… M6.

Hybrid Technology – The ultimate for both riding worlds… Shane’s new aggressive, performance hull shape and the responsive flex characteristics of our hybrid construction makes a board that carves, boosts, slides, grinds, and lets you be free to dream your own line.

LF Exclusive Grind Base – Sintered base material for long lasting park and rail park durability and fun.

Aggressive, Three Stage Rocker – Straight up pop behind the boat, and catch-free transitions in parks.

Double to Triple Concave Hull – Double in center breaks water for softer landings with no speed loss. Triple Concave at ends for ollie power and pop with superior edge hold.

LF Exclusive Liquid Rail – Elastomeric sidewall for the ultimate rail bond and unsurpassed durability.

Precision CNC Wood/PVC Core – Combination hybrid core provides the springiest, lightest flex in a core. Wood gives superior strength and flex. PVC keeps it as light as possible.

Triax Glass Layup – Special weave provides torsional control with just the right spring and flex.

LF Slider Quad Fin Setup – Long base slider fins for extra hold and a durable grinding surface. Quad Fin Setup.

2011 Spark

best kiteboarding spark board

You’ve just finished your lessons, and you already have your first Best kite, now you just need to choose the perfect board to help you maximize your progress. It has to be easy to ride, durable, and it has to look good as well. The Spark range has you covered.

With three different size models in the Spark range, you are sure to find the perfect fit for your size, weight, and skill level. Flex patterns for each board size are adjusted to compensate for intended rider weight. The Spark’s proven tri-axial glass lay-up; improved Wood-flex core and new channel release tips provide forgiving handling, great performance and maximum versatility.

Priced lower than you would expect for a board with such a high-spec, it’s the perfect board for any beginner or intermediate rider. Designed with progress in mind, we are sure you’ll keep your Spark long after you have completed your first season

Woodflex core:Our Wood Flex Core is made exclusively from choice grain Paulownia wood laminates. A vertical laminate orientation creates the perfect blend of lightweight construction and endless durability. CNC profiling of upper and lower deck surfaces ensures a lively yet controlled feel underfoot, allowing intermediate riders and beginners alike to make the most of every session.

Controlled flex zones:A great board needs progressive flex to be able to resist the low frequency impacts of heavy landings and still be able to soak up the high frequency chatter generated by riding through choppy water at speed. The Spark design carefully blends the core profile and deck concave depth to provide you with Controlled Flex zones that deliver the smoothest riding board we’ve ever made.

Tri-axial layup:The Spark uses multiple weight biaxial and uni-directional cloth in a ‘0 -45 +45’ layup to provide precise control of board flex, ensuring a lively feel and swift reaction to rider input. Biax cloth provides a stable foundation and resistance to torsional flex, while an additional lightweight uni-directional laminate provides control of tip-to-tip flex allowing us to dial in the perfect combination of flex for every board size and every rider weight.

Grip tips:3D channel Grip Tips on the underside of the Spark help you hold a better line in the water by providing the added control of larger fins without the associated increase in drag and reduction in planing speed. Storming upwind and hard carving just became a whole load easier, regardless of your skill level.

Discreet mounting system:Utilizing individual mounting blocks for all fin and strap hardware means the Controlled Flex Zone pattern and inherent strength of the Spark board is not compromised by providing multiple foot strap position options to accommodate all riders. The discreet inserts on the Spark board are each thermally bonded in place during the molding process for the most positive contact between insert and wood core.

Tri-axial layup:The 2010 Spark uses multiple weight biaxial and uni-directional cloth in a ‘0 -45 +45’ layup to provide precise control of board flex, ensuring a lively feel and swift reaction to rider input. Biax cloth provides a stable foundation and resistance to torsional flex, while an additional lightweight uni-directional laminate provides control of tip-to-tip flex allowing us to dial in the perfect combination of flex for every board size and every rider weight.

Fred Rubble

Model Description

Fred Rubble by Conner Coffin“The Fred Rubble is actually quite a bit different than my other boards. It has a lower entry rocker and a wider outline. It has more volume than a Proton, but it isn’t really short and chunky like a Dumpster Diver. It’s just a fun board for waves from waist high to a little over head. I’ve been riding mine two inches shorter than my standard shortboard and 1/4 inch wider. For example, my standard shortboard is a 5’11″ x 18 3/8″ x 2 3/16″ Proton and I ride my Fred Rubble as a 5’9″ x 18 5/8″ x 2 3/16″.

So I’d recommend for you a 5’11″ if your normal board is a 6’1″. – Connor Coffin

Features single to double concave and comes standard in a squash tail.

Experience

Ridden by Conner in all conditions, from low tide Rincon and dumpy HB, to the fat faced mushy stuff. The wide point is forward to skate over flat sections but with more tail kick than a Flyer so it stays tight when turning hard in the pocket.

Dane claimed best turn of his life on this board in the Rip Curl Search Puerto Rico contest in 2010.

Super spicy and the perfect board to fill the gap between your shortboard and your Dumpster Diver.

IDEAL WAVE SIZE

Waist high to a little over head
